MIAMI (AP) - St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Michael Wacha has been optioned to Triple-A Memphis to create a roster spot for right-hander Jake Westbrook, who was activated as expected to start Friday's game at Miami.

The Cardinals chose to keep rookie left-hander Tyler Lyons in the rotation rather than Wacha. Lyons, who is 2-2 with a 3.51 ERA in four games, will start Sunday against the Marlins.

Wacha made three starts and went 1-0 with an ERA of 4.58.

Westbrook went on the disabled list June 9 with elbow inflammation.
