(KSDK Sports) -- Rams became the first NFL team to open up a team branded youth training center today, as they debuted
the St. Louis Rams Training Academy. The academy is a new 20,000 square-foot indoor training and development facility featuring state-of-the-art video analysis labs and training equipment including a turf field, Olympic-style weight room with Rams branded power mats, and a 60-yard speed track with a laser timing system.
Monday's grand opening featured a youth football camp hosted by the St. Louis Rams 2013 Rookie Class. The camp will include football skill development, the opportunity to meet Rams players, an official camp t-shirt and a certificate.
The Rams are the first team in the NFL to have their own team branded youth training academy. The St. Louis have partnered with Elite Football Academy to run the day-to-day operations of the facility.
Elite Football Academy is a year-round skills development program providing both on-field skills training and off-field classroom preparation. The St. Louis Rams Training Academy makes it possible for kids of all ages to learn how to play the Rams way, both on and off the field.
Throughout the year, the Rams will host six weeks of Rams football camps and various NFL PLAY 60 activities at the facility. The Rams Training Academy will also offer birthday packages so kids can have their very own Rams birthday party and celebrate with the Rams.
Rams players, coaches and alumni will make guest appearances throughout the year, including autograph signings, coaches' clinics and character development seminars. Additionally, the team will have a merchandise and ticket outlet in the facility that will be open year-round.
The Rams Training Academy will also be open to adults of all ages that want to get an edge through professional training with Elite Performance Academy.
