ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A young girl recovering from a double lung transplant got the surprise of her life today.

Fourteen-year-old Kenedy Maze just thought she was going to lunch. But instead, she walked out of the Ronald McDonald House where she's staying to find a limo; then she was off to a surprise makeover and shopping spree.

Kenedy, a Kentucky native, moved to St. Louis to receive treatment at Children's Hospital for cystic fibrosis.

She was pampered because she was unable to the day of her eighth-grade formal, which fell just two days after her transplant.

With her gown draped over her bed, Kenedy watched the entire event via Skype.

Red Key Realty planned the surprise. One of its top agents also suffers from cystic fibrosis.

Kenedy is recovering well from her operation and expects to go home within the next couple of weeks.
