ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - St. Louis County police say a man, wounded by a gunshot, who slammed a car into a home's garage in Jennings Monday night, claims to have shot himself.
Originally, police said they were called to the home in the 8800 block of Sumter Drive shortly after its driver was shot at the Shop 'n Save in Moline Acres.

On Tuesday, police said the driver of the vehicle told them his friend, whom he identified only as "skinny," found a gun a few days ago and he was going to "get rid of it."
The man, who police haven't publicly identified, said he started to play with the gun and pulled the trigger before he realized there was a bullet in the chamber. He said he accidentally shot himself in the left calf, and then blacked out before crashing his car into the garage.
He was taken to SSM DePaul Health Center where he is listed as stable.
