ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) -Ray Wagner, a business executive, and husband of U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Baldwin), surprised everyone at Tuesday's police board meeting, saying he must bring his "already expired term to a close", because of expanding work commitments.
If you go to the St. Louis County webpage for the police board, you will see a giant blue box with a disclaimer saying a photo will be posted as soon as it's available.
That is because three of the five police board members resigned this month.
Last week, Board Chairman Gregory Sansone resigned. The FBI is looking into a connection between a company Sansone owns and a contract to build a new crime lab.
Earlier this month, the vice chair, Floyd Warmann resigned citing an unspecified conflict of interest.
Wagner, who is now board chair, said he would serve until his replacement is named or Sept. 25th, whichever comes first.
Last week, County Executive Charlie Dooley nominated Dave Spence, a Republican and the Rev. Freddy Clark, founder of Shalom Church, to replace Sansone and Warmann.
The county commission could approve those appointments tonight.
