BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - The Belleville Police Department will get $40,000 Tuesday to protect officers on the street.
The money is coming from a settlement between a ballistic shield maker and Sgt. Jon Brough, who was shot in the face while storming a house in 2006. Brough suffered severe injuries but survived.
He and his legal team will make a $40,000 donation to the Belleville Police Trust Fund to buy safety and operational gear for other officers.
