ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - St. Louis County police, St. Charles County police and three social service providers will share a $1 million grant to aid human trafficking.
The U.S. Department of Justice grant will go toward serving victims and enhance the prosecution of those involved in trafficking crimes. St. Louis-based International Institute, Legal Services of Easter Missouri and YWCA along with the police departments comprise the Rescue Service Team who will be sharing the grant funds, which will be distributed throughout two years.
This is the first year the grant has been given to an Eastern District of Missouri group. Missouri is one of six applicant groups being awarded the grant in the country.
