EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - A former US Air Force contractor pleaded guilty to receiving gratuities in connection with his job, according to U.S. Attorney for Southern District of Illinois Stephen Wigginton.
According to court documents, Dennis Toenjes, 66, accepted payments for car repair and heating and cooling repair from an asbestos abatement company doing work on Scott Air Force Base. The payments from Stephen Sweet totaled more than $9,300.
Toenjes faces two years in prison, a $250,000 fine and one year of supervised release, according to Wigginton.
His sentencing has been set for Jan. 24, 2014.
