St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A plea agreement has resulted in a 15 year prison term for a Belleville man accused in a 2011 incident that left another man dead.

Emmanuel Sanchez, 29 of Belleville, pleaded guilty Thursday to a reduced manslaughter charge in the death of 40 year old Gary Patch of Columbia, Illinois.

Originally, Sanchez was charged with murder in the victims death after witnesses told police Sanchez drove a vehicle into a parking lot near the Social House night club, and struck Patch with a minivan.

Authorities say a fight was underway outside the Soulard club prior to Patch being struck.

Bystanders say the victim was catapulted over the moving vehicle.  He died later at a St. Louis hospital.  Sanchez was arrested a short time later after dumping the van near the scene of the incident.

Sanchez also pleaded guilty to an assault charge, armed criminal action and drug possession in the episode.
