Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Jordan Gregory scored 17 points to lead the
Montana Grizzlies to an 81-66 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles in a
Big Sky Conference showdown at Dahlberg Arena.
Spencer Coleman scored 15 points off the bench, Mathias Ward netted 12 points
and Will Cherry handed out nine assists for Montana (7-4, 3-0 Big Sky).
Venky Jois scored 16 points and collected seven rebounds and Collin Chiverton
and Thomas Reuter added 15 and 14 points, respectively, off the bench for
Eastern Washington (3-10, 1-2).
At the end of the first half Montana held a 34-29 lead after shooting and even
50.0 percent from the field including a 5-of-13 showing from beyond the arc.
Eastern Washington kept close despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the
floor by nailing 13-of-14 shots from the free throw line.
In the second half Montana shot just 37.5 percent from the field but had a
massive 25-7 edge in points from the charity stripe to secure the win.
Montana had a slim 31-28 edge on the boards and just five turnovers.
