Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Keion Bell went 10-of-16 from the field to net 24 points as the Missouri Tigers completed a 78-36 rout of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a Southeastern Conference affair at Humphrey Coliseum.
Jabari Brown netted 20 points for Missouri (18-6, 7-4 SEC), which also received 11 points from Laurence Bowers. Alex Oriakhi grabbed 10 rebounds as the Tigers picked up their first win in a true road game this season.
Trivante Bloodman paced MSU (7-16, 2-9) with 13 points. The loss was the ninth in a row for the Bulldogs.
The Tigers managed to score 14 points before the Bulldogs made their first basket of the contest over eight minutes after tip-off. Missouri shot 46.9 percent from the field while allowing MSU to make just 4-of-25 from the floor in the opening half en route to a dominant, 34-10 halftime lead.
Although the hosts heated up slightly to connect on 33.3 percent of their field goal tries in the second stanza, Missouri poured in 61.5 percent of its shots from the floor, including 7-of-14 from beyond the arc to coast to the 42-point win.
The Tigers held a 46-25 edge in the rebounding battle. The Bulldogs' current losing streak is their longest since 1987 and the 42-point loss was the worst in the history of Humphrey Coliseum since it opened in 1975.
