(KSDK Sports) -- Missouri will take on the Rams of Colorado State University in the first round of the NCAA tournament in Lexington, Kentucky.

CSU had the second seed in Mountain West Conference Tournament, but on Saturday they were defeated by the third-seeded UNLV Runnin' Rebels 75-65.  Although it fell, Colorado State held a 42-32 edge in the rebounding battle and also outscored UNLV, 36-22, in the paint.

Colorado State last went back-to-back in 1989 and '90. This would be the Rams' fourth trip to the NCAAs since 1990, but they have not won an NCAA Tournament game since beating Florida in the first round in 1989.

Last season, the 11th-seeded Rams lost 58-41 to Murray State at Louisville, Ky.

The Rams finish with a record of 25-8, and a ratings percentage index of 24.  (RPI is valid measure of team strength).  Some in the Colorado press say this is probably the best team to take the court for CSU.

The Rams have only made the NCAA Tournament nine times, but they have a dismal overall tournament record of 3-10.

According to the CSU website here are some players to watch:

Leading Scorer: Colton Iverson (14.4 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Colton Iverson (9.6 rpg)

Leading Passer: Dorian Green (3.9 apg)

Bad Losses: Illinois-Chicago

Good Wins: UNLV, San Diego State
