COLUMBIA, Mo. (KSDK) - Sophomore linebacker Kentrell Brothers was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a dominating performance in Mizzou's 41-26 win over Georgia.

Brothers made a career-high 10 tackles and notched his third interception of the season. He's tied for the team lead in interceptions.

This is the fifth weekly SEC honor earned by a Mizzou football player this season. Senior DL Michael Sam, junior DL Markus Golden and junior DL Kony Ealy combined for four Defensive Line Player of the Week honors (Sept. 7, Sept. 21, Sept. 28, and Oct. 5, respectively).

No. 14 Mizzou (6-0) returns to Faurot Field to face No. 22 Florida on Saturday, Oct. 19, with an 11:21 a.m. kickoff.
