Lance Berkman knee surgery to fix meniscus, cartilage tears

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman underwent right knee surgery Friday morning in Houston, Texas.

Doctors performing Berkman's arthroscopy found a partial meniscus tear and a small femoral condylar cartilage tear. The meniscus was removed and cartilage tear was debrided.

Lance Berkman's recovery and rehab will take place in Houston. He'll return to St. Louis for the latter portion of his rehabilitation. He's expected to return to the Cardinals in 8 to 10 weeks.
