St. Louis (KSDK) -- Ten years ago, St. Louis lost Cardinals broadcasting legend Jack Buck died.

Buck died after a battle with Parkinson's Disease and left behind a legend that lives on with the Cardinals organization and fans.

Buck had eight children and a loving wife, Carole.

He got to live a father's dream and share the broadcast booth with his son, Joe.

Buck was also a patriot, an Army veteran, who was awarded the Purple Heart.  He loved his country, and it showed the day he read his poem "For America" five days after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack.
