(The Chirp) -- Here is the latest information from the Cardinals' clubhouse.

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny meets with reporters and tells KSDK Sports that despite a rough 9th inning last night, Mitchell Boggs is available to pitch tonight against the Reds.

KSDK Sports Director Rene Knott is reporting that one day after returning from the 15 day disabled list, third baseman David Freese is not in tonight's Cardinals line-up.  Matt Carpenter starts at third and will bat in the two hole.

As reported earlier in the week, the Cardinals were awaiting an evaluation by doctors on injured closer Jason Motte today.  Motte told KSDK sports that as of 4:00, he is still does not know the results of his MRI yet.  According to Rene Knott, Motte is said to be "in a good joking mood in the clubhouse so maybe that's a good sign."
