Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Kobe Bryant registered a triple-
double with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists as the Los Angeles Lakers
cruised to a 101-81 win over the Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center.
Dwight Howard finished the night with a game-high 24 points and also pulled
down 12 boards, followed by Earl Clark with a double-double of his own with 17
points and 12 boards off the bench. Pau Gasol chipped in 14 points, 10
rebounds and six assists, while Steve Blake accounted for 11 points as Los
Angeles won its second straight and the third in the last four outings.
With the victory, the Lakers are now tied with Utah for the eighth spot in the
Western Conference standings, although the Jazz do own the tie-breaker between
The Mavericks, who were aiming to reach .500 on the season but are now 19
games out in the Southwest Division, were paced by Chris Kaman who scored 14
points before fouling out. O.J. Mayo registered 12 points while Dirk Nowitzki,
Darren Collison and Vince Carter each logged 11 points in the setback.
