(KSDK Sports)  -- Steven Jackson became the 15th player to rush for 10,000 yards for the Rams. He had 73 yards on just eight carries and has 909 yards on the year, keeping him in range of an eighth straight 1,000-yard season.

Jackson's running display in the Rams Week 15 home game against the Minnesota Vikings, was the high point for Rams fans who remained in their seats into the fourth quarter, as the Vikings and Adrian Peterson dominated.

Entering the game Sunday, Jackson needed 71 yards to reach the coveted 10,000 yard career mark.  Jackson accomplished his feat on his 13th carry of the game.

And although the Rams' chances of reaching the post season dimmed significantly Sunday afternoon, Jackson's rendezvous with more history is quite probable over the season's final two weeks.

Coming into the 2012 season, Jackson had accomplished seven consecutive seasons of rushing 1,000 yards or more.  Entering today he had amassed 836 yards this season.  Now with two weeks left, he needs just 91 yards to reach his 8th season of rushing 1000 yards.
