Christ Stewart signs one-year deal with St. Louis Blues

St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis Blues have resigned a player it acquired during the 2011 season.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada native Chris Stewart signed a one-year deal with the club, Blues executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong said Thursday. Terms of the contract were not released.

Stewart, 24, appeared in 79 regular season games for the Blues last season, posting 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) and a career high 109 penalty minutes. He notched two goals and recorded 12 penalty minutes in seven playoff games.

Since joining the St. Louis Blues in February 2011, Stewart has scored 53 points (30 goals, 23 assists) and 124 penalty minutes in 105 games. Overall, Stewart has dressed in 271 games during his four-year National Hockey League (NHL) career recording 166 points including 82 goals and 84 assists as well as 289 penalty minutes.
